Is 454B Flammable?

R454B is considered mildly flammable. This means the refrigerant is difficult to ignite and would take a continuous arc or flame and a high concentration of Refrigerant to be in danger. Use standard safety procedures

Should contractors look into the press fittings as a safer method of installation for the new A2L refrigerants?

Press fittings have shown to be reliable. Contractors installing large jobs with a large number of joins tend to benefit the most.Both solder and press fittings must be done correctly. Both are approved for A2L Refrigerant and work equally as well.The big savings with press fittings is no oxygen acetylene and no need to flow nitrogen while soldering.
